When an employer says not to use AI

Before we write anything, we look for any rule about AI in the ad and your other documents. If the employer asks you not to use AI, we show their exact words. Then we pause our AI help for that part of the job: your application, interview preparation or a take-home task.

What you'll see

  • First, we check the employer's rules on AI shows while we read how to apply. It takes a few seconds.
  • The employer's rule on using AI in your checklist quotes their line, and says what it pauses.
  • AI help is paused here shows where the paused help would be, such as your documents or kit.

While a part is paused, we don't offer the option for it on this job.

Turning help back on

Read the line first. It may only be about the interview itself, for example. Only if you're sure the employer allows it, choose Turn AI help back on.

Help turns back on for that part only. Your AI-use note records the line and the date.

What never changes

We never help during a live interview or test, and we never write a task they set you. Follow the employer's rules. Wondering if AI help is fair at all? Read our answer on fair use.
