Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what job seekers ask before they start. Seal the Offer turns a job ad and your resume into the application it asks for. It also builds an Interview Kit on your own stories. You see one free answer first and pay once per job. Any claim about you we can't back is flagged.

The basics

What is Seal the Offer?

Seal the Offer is a web app for job seekers. Paste a job ad and add your resume. It shows how to apply and gives you one full interview answer, free. Then it can write the application the ad asks for, and an Interview Kit built on your own stories. You pay once, and nothing renews.

How a job starts, step by step

How does it work?

Paste the job ad, its link, a file or screenshots, then add your resume. We list what the ad asks you to send, its limits and its closing date. Sign in with your email to see one free answer. Then choose what you need: the application, the Interview Kit, or a pass with 5 kits.

What the free preview shows

Who is it for?

Job seekers anywhere in the world, in any field. It works for a first job, a graduate role, or a senior or executive role. It suits anyone with a job ad in hand: applying, or getting ready for an interview. You must be 16 or older to use it.

What's in an Interview Kit?

Answers to the questions this panel will most likely ask: 15 by default, or 8 to 18 by interview type. Each card shows our estimate of the chance it's asked, and a memory hook. Its short answer uses one of your stories. You also get research on the employer, a cheat sheet and a PDF.

Using your kit to practise

How is it different from asking ChatGPT or another chat AI?

A chat AI can help, but you write the prompts and check every result. Seal the Offer follows set steps. It reads the ad's rules first, quoting the ad. It checks each claim about you against your resume, and leaves missing details as [brackets]. Our code counts the words and measures the pages.

Fair use of AI

Is using Seal the Offer cheating?

No, when you use it to prepare. It builds on your resume and stories, and checks every claim against them. Anything it can't back is taken out. It never helps during a live interview, test or recording. If an employer says no AI, we show their line and pause our help.

Our full answer on fair use

Does it make up experience I don't have?

No. It's told never to invent employers, job titles, dates, degrees, clearances, numbers or results. Each claim about you is checked against your resume, stories and answers. Any it can't back is taken out. A missing detail stays a [bracket] for you to fill. Where you have no story for a question, you get a labelled example.

Can I use it during an interview or a test?

No. Seal the Offer is for getting ready beforehand. It never helps during a live interview, test, assessment or recorded video interview. For a take-home task, coach mode explains the task, helps you plan and research it, and proofreads your draft. It never writes any of the task for you.

How coach mode works

What if the job ad says not to use AI?

Before we write anything, we look for a rule about AI. If the ad or an employer's email asks you not to use AI, we show that line. We pause our AI help for that part: your application, interview preparation or a take-home task. Turn it back on only if you're sure the employer allows it.

What the pause looks like

What if an employer asks how I used AI?

Tell them what's true. Each job has an AI-use note. It lists what you gave us, what Seal the Offer wrote, and what you changed. It ends with a sentence you can copy to answer the question. On a US federal job, we don't write the essay answers. The US Office of Personnel Management asks for your own words.

Your data

What happens to my resume?

We read the text from your file and keep the text, not the file. We send our AI only what each step needs: Anthropic's Claude, or Google's Gemini when Claude can't answer. We never sell your data or use it to train AI, and neither do they. You can download or delete it at any time in Settings.

What we collect and why

Who can see my jobs and kits?

Only you can read your resume and kits in the app. An admin can open your account page to help you. It shows your email, job titles and orders, never your resume or kits, and each view is logged. A friend with your practice link sees your questions, never your resume. Service providers get only what they need.

The rules for practice links

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings and choose Delete my account. We delete your data at once and email you to confirm. Backups are gone within 30 days. We keep each order's record for 5 years, as tax law requires, without your name or email. We keep interview questions you noted, without names. Download my data first to keep a copy.

Prices and payment

How much does it cost?

Three options, priced per job, tax included. The Application Pack is US$12 for one job's documents. The Interview Kit is US$39 for one job, with its documents. The Job Hunt Pass is US$169 for 5 Interview Kits within 90 days. In Australia, they're A$18, A$55 and A$239. You pay once, and nothing renews.

Choosing an option and paying

Is it a subscription?

No. Every payment is one-time, and nothing renews by itself. What you buy for a job stays yours. A Job Hunt Pass gives you 5 Interview Kits to use within 90 days. We email you 7 days before it ends. Kits you haven't used end with it, but what you made stays yours.

What is the free preview?

One full answer to the question this panel is most likely to ask first, written from your resume. It also shows something they'll ask about your resume, and what the ad requires. You need only your email, and no card. You get one, and after any purchase each new job gets one. Every job's how-to-apply checklist is free.

Can I get a refund?

If something isn't right, tell us and we'll put it right. We look at every refund request case by case, with no fixed window. Email help@sealtheoffer.com with the job and what went wrong. Say whether you'd like a fix or your money back. Your rights under consumer law always apply.

How to ask for a refund

Do friends get a discount?

Yes. Every account has its own link, in Settings under Invite friends. A friend who uses it gets 15% off their first purchase. You get a free Interview Kit 7 days after they buy, unless the purchase is refunded or disputed. You can also buy any option as a gift, with a private link that works once.

Countries and languages

Does it work in my country?

Yes. Seal the Offer is made for job seekers anywhere. Prices are in US dollars everywhere except Australia, where they're in Australian dollars. Every price includes any tax your country requires. Your documents follow the job's country: its usual length, page size and spelling.

Which languages does it work in?

The app's screens are in English. Your kit follows the interview's language, which you can change before it's written. Kits come in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi and Arabic, with Arabic right to left. For now, every language but English is marked beta, so read each answer closely.
