Seal the Offer and ChatGPT side by side
Both use AI. ChatGPT uses OpenAI's GPT models. Seal the Offer uses Claude, AI models made by Anthropic, as our page on AI explains. This page compares the method around the AI, not the models.

Where ChatGPT is better
- It does much more than job hunting. One tool covers writing, study, research and more.
- It's free to start. ChatGPT's plans include a free plan with unlimited text chats, within its abuse limits.
- You can talk it through. Its voice page suggests voice chats to prep for an interview. Seal the Offer has no AI voice practice.
- You set the method. You can ask for any style, length or format, and change course at any time.
- OpenAI shows people how. It ran a session on resumes and interviews in March 2026.
Where Seal the Offer is different
Seal the Offer runs the same steps for every job, so you don't have to write the prompts:
- The job ad comes first. It lists what to send, file types, page and word limits, the closing date and any rule about AI. Each rule it finds quotes the ad, and our code checks the quote is there.
- Claims about you are checked. Each one is checked against your resume and your answers. One that isn't backed is rewritten or taken out, never left as our guess. A missing detail stays a [bracket] for you to fill in.
- It predicts the likely questions. Each card shows our estimate of the chance it's asked.
- It writes the application the ad asks for. You get a resume made for the ad, and the cover letter, statement or selection criteria it asks for. Our code counts the words and measures the pages. Files come in Word and PDF.
- It keeps the job's dates. Your list of jobs shows each one's closing or interview date. It emails reminders when it's sure of a date.
- Take-home tasks get coaching, not answers. It explains and plans the task, and proofreads your draft. It never writes the task.
- It follows the employer's rules on AI. If the ad asks you not to use AI, it shows that line and pauses its help for that part.
With a general chat, you can do many of these steps yourself. You write each prompt, and you check each result.
How to choose
- Choose ChatGPT for one tool that does many tasks, your own prompts, or practice out loud by voice.
- Choose Seal the Offer if you have a job ad. Its rules, your documents and your likely questions come the same way each time.
- Or use both. For example, make a kit in Seal the Offer, then say your answers out loud in a voice chat.
- Either way, read every line before you send it, and follow each employer's rules on AI.
Not sure? Seal the Offer's free preview shows the ad's rules and one full answer before you pay.
One job ad, two ways
A made-up person gets ready for one job, first with a general chat, then with Seal the Offer. It shows the steps, not a result.

Neither tool sends the application for her. Either way, she reads every line and fills each gap with the truth.
Questions
Does Seal the Offer use ChatGPT?
No. It uses Claude, AI models made by Anthropic. Its page on AI lists which model does each step.
Can I get the same result from ChatGPT?
You can do many of the same steps in a chat. You'd find the ad's rules, count the words and check each claim yourself. No published test compares the two.
Is ChatGPT cheaper?
It can be. ChatGPT has a free plan, and its paid plans are priced per month. Seal the Offer charges once per job, from US$12 (A$18 in Australia), and nothing renews.
Will an employer mind if I use AI?
Some employers set rules on AI. Seal the Offer shows any such line in the ad. If it asks you not to use AI, Seal the Offer pauses its help for that part. With any tool, follow the employer's rules.
